The Pursuit

Warm water, uncrowded line-ups, and a coast built for it.

Sri Lanka's southern and eastern coastlines hold one of the most varied stretches of surf in the Indian Ocean — reef breaks, river-mouth point breaks, and forgiving beach breaks, often within an hour of each other.

This isn't a surf camp with a fixed schedule. It's a private route through the island's best swell windows, timed to the season and built around your ability — whether that means your first weeks on a soft-top in Weligama or hunting barrels at Arugam Bay on a board you brought from home.

Between sessions, the pace slows down. Mornings start before the wind picks up; afternoons are left open for the things that make a trip more than a surf trip — a tuk-tuk ride to a tea estate, a long lunch by the lagoon, a boat out to a reef pass at golden hour.

From the river mouth at Arugam Bay to the long, soft rollers of Weligama Bay — a preview of the breaks and the in-between moments.

Day By Day

How the journey unfolds

A sample structure for the 9-day route — adjusted to swell forecasts, tides, and how each guest is progressing.

Days 01–02

Arrival & Weligama Bay

Land in Colombo and transfer down the coast to Weligama. The first two days are about resetting the clock and reading the water — gentle, sandy-bottomed waves perfect for finding your footing or simply shaking off the flight before the bigger days ahead.

Days 03–04

Mirissa & the Point Breaks

South along the coast to Mirissa, where longer rights peel off a rocky point. Two full days in the water, with afternoons free for a whale-watching boat out of the harbour or simply resting before the next leg.

Days 05–07

Crossing to Arugam Bay

The drive across the island to the east coast takes you through tea country and dry-zone national parks — a half-day journey that's part of the trip in its own right. Three days based at Arugam Bay, chasing the famous right-hand point on its best swell window of the year.

Rest Day & Lagoon

A built-in pause. Some guests choose a yoga session on the beach, others a boat out onto the Pottuvil Lagoon at dawn to watch for elephants that come down to drink at the water's edge.

Day 09

Final Session & Departure

One last dawn session before the transfer back. We build in flexibility here — if the forecast is firing, your return flight can often be pushed a day.
